Maria Jimbo
SENIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER
I design decision tools experts can trust under pressure.
Ten years across interpreters at the EU Parliament, AV technicians, and ML engineers allocating GPU across Meta. My background is in archaeology: observation and inference about things that don't speak, which is most of user research.
Experts often want the opposite of standard design heuristics: higher information density, fewer guardrails, faster paths to power-user workflows. I build from what they actually do, not what conventions assume they need.
Outside of work I take long walks through woods and cities, cook experimental dishes, reorganize my closet for the umpteenth time, and dote on my crested gecko, which means building elaborate terrariums I tell myself are for him 🦎
Looking at Senior / Staff IC roles, especially in infrastructure, climate, geospatial, scientific instruments, or healthcare. Based in Chicago, open to remote or hybrid.
